I've recently started recording and watching a daily scrapbooking cable show. Finally today they have shared ideas for doing scrapbooking/journalling without having to spend much money on scrapbooking supplies. My own favorite art usually involves found objects, or recycling. Does anyone else have some neat ideas for being creative in your journalling pages while also using found objects?
I personally keep a basket of yarns and ribbons too small for use in much else; and old bus schedules or junk mail for fun and different page backgrounds. Junk drawers are also a treasure chest of small and fun pieces. I realize the possiblilites are endless. I'd like to hear of ideas that have worked for you.

Re: Simplistic Art Journalling
Sat, July 21, 2007 - 7:25 AMI know you posted this awhile ago but, we need to keep this tribe going! Don't you all agree!!!
Well, I save really cool clothes tags. They can be so colorful and add detail in such a little area. I also am a sucker for magazine clippings. This is going to be the death of me, lol. I have so many magazines and of course I just keep buying more! I also have a little container by my craft/art area that has the same sorts of scraps in it.....mostly bits of paper that I just cant throw away because you just never know when you might need that little piece, lol! -

Re: Simplistic Art Journalling
Sun, August 5, 2007 - 6:45 AMAs you may know, my current art journal is an older used book as a base. I admit it has been a real challenge working with pages that are not blank. A big part of my process has been finding new ways to cover existing text. These ideas of using different papers are helpful. I definately also like using used wrappers and other found scraps, even old playing cards are fun to work with.
